Shirley Temple Black passed away yesterday, at the age of 85.
In the latter half of the 1930s, as a girl who wasn’t yet teenager, Shirley Temple was the biggest movie star in the world. Even after retiring at the very young age of 22, she didn’t fade into obscurity. Instead, she entered into the world of politics, working under three Presidents.
A special Oscar winner at the age of only 6 she made 23 films, all with her trademark sparkle and smile. She will be missed by generations young and old.
“I stopped believing in Santa Claus when I was six. Mother took me to see him in a department store and he asked for my autograph.”
